What do the staff designations mean?

EA: Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.  An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by passing a three part exam on taxation.  Kim can  represent taxpayers in situations like audits, collections and appeals.

CPA: A certified public accountant (CPA) is a designation given by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to individuals that pass the Uniform CPA Examination and meet the education and experience requirements. The CPA designation helps enforce professional standards in the accounting industry. To learn more about the difference between a CPA designation and a CPA Certification see this article.
